Election 2024 – Election Certification
2020 – 2024 – More than 102 Trumpers obtain positions as election official in six swing states, with majority control in 14 counties. Six such counties are in Pennsylvania, a pivotal swing state.
May 17, 2024 – Right wing media personality Janelle King is appointed to Georgia’s State Election Board by the Georgia state legislature. She is the third right wing appointee on the 5-member board. More recently, that board has passed a rule granting county officials discretion in excluding specific votes. The rule is under judicial challenge.
August 3, 2024 – In Atlanta Trump lauds the three right wing Georgia Election Board members Janice Johnston, Rick Jeffares, and King, stating that they are “pit bulls fighting for honesty, transparency, and victory,”
June 14, 2024 – At a Republican National Committee event in Michigan, co-chair (and daughter-in-law) Lara Trump said, “We can never go back and repeat 2020, but we can learn the lessons from 2020.”
In 2020, the election denial occurred after the results were certified by all the states, and Trump had lost. The “lesson from 2020” is to simply not allow this to happen. Election results will be controlled by :
- Sufficient polling intimidation to skew the vote favorably, and/or
- Challenge and prevention of certification where results are not favorable.
It is highly likely that the results of this election will not be concluded easily or timely. It is further likely that the ultimate determination will be decided – Where?
The best and last chance is for a landslide vote. This needs to occur in all states which will then carry great influence in public opinion and in possible recourse action.
